On Wednesday 1st April Raffmetal and Silmar Group welcomed the Regional Councillor for Economic Development of Lombardy, Guido Guidesi, together with local institutional representatives, at the Casto site for a discussion on key industrial development topics.
The meeting focused on the strategic role of the aluminium value chain, with particular attention to sustainability, energy efficiency and industrial competitiveness.
Among the main topics, the project “Sustainable and circular aluminium value chain” was highlighted. Developed within the Strategic Supply Chains program promoted by Regione Lombardia, the initiative sees Raffmetal as lead partner and aims to strengthen industrial integration and reduce environmental impact through investments in technologies and processes.
The discussion also addressed key challenges facing the sector, including scrap availability and rising energy costs, reaffirming the importance of continuous collaboration between institutions and industry.
The visit confirmed the value of an ongoing public-private dialogue to support competitiveness and drive the transition towards more sustainable industrial models.
