Episode 2 | Energy Under Control: the ISO 50001 System

Within Raffmetal’s sustainability journey, energy management represents a strategic lever for reducing environmental impact and maintaining industrial competitiveness. The adoption of the ISO 50001 management system has enabled a structured and methodical approach to monitoring and improving energy performance.
Through the systematic collection and analysis of consumption data, the system makes it possible to identify efficiency opportunities, support investment planning, and verify results over time. This approach is integrated with the company’s initiatives in energy recovery and increased self-generation from renewable sources, contributing to the progressive reduction of emissions and specific consumption.
According to Eng. Bianca Maria Tedeschi, responsible for the ISO 50001 system, “the certification represents an operational tool that transforms energy monitoring into continuous improvement, involving the entire organization.”
The ISO 50001 system therefore stands as a key ESG pillar, capable of integrating energy governance, technological innovation, and a corporate culture of efficiency.
